The state-of-the-art Giraffe 1X radar system is the most recent member of the well-known Giraffe radar family and is designed specifically for integration in small and highly mobile platforms, as well as fixed installations for critical infrastructure.
All-target capability
Giraffe 1X provides automatic tracking capability of more than 600 air targets with a velocity of up to 700 m/s. The sensor includes functions for detection and tracking as well as classification of helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, UAS, mortars, rockets and jammers. As one part of the system’s ECCM performance it also has the ability to establish and maintain tracking of several jammers.
Rapid deployment
Giraffe 1X allows for swift deployment both stand-alone and installed on a vehicle. The low power consumption allows the system to be powered from carrier generator or even temporarily by batteries.
The built-in capability to handle steep inclination angles enables deployment without the need of levelling and support legs and also secures short time for deployment. Altogether, this gives Giraffe 1X the agility required for operations in the modern battlefield.
